Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know a lot of technical stuff before contacting you?
You don’t need to know anything technical when you contact us. We’ll work with you, listening to your requirements and clearly explaining the different types of solutions that will meet your needs. We’ll help you decide what will work best for your business goals and budget. On the other hand, if you do have a grip on the technical stuff, we’d be happy to discuss your specifications.
Do you write "clean code" for websites?
Yes, we do. All our websites include structured, semantic code that is search engine friendly and compatible with all major browsers. In addition, our code is responsive so that your website looks great on all devices – mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop.
I don’t have a domain name as yet. What do I do?
If you don’t have a domain name registered for your website, we discuss your domain preferences at the start of your project. We offer expert advice based on your business needs, and not only help you register the most suitable domain name available, but also handle all the technical stuff that goes with domain registration.
What about web hosting?
Every website is located, or hosted, on a web server. A website’s owner typically pays a small monthly or yearly fee to use the web server. There are many different types of web hosting, depending on your business needs. For instance, do you require e-commerce or not? How much web server space, traffic, software, hardware and security does your website require? We provide expert advice on the web hosting that best suits your business, focusing on high quality hosting available right here in New Zealand.
Do you offer e-commerce solutions?
Yes, we do. Whether you’re selling a single product or a hundred thousand, we provide e-commerce solutions that fit your requirements. All our e-commerce websites come with user-friendly backend / administrative areas, so you can quickly and easily manage your online store.
How long does it take to complete a website project?
On average, we take 3 to 10 weeks to complete a website. The time frame really depends on the type, size and complexity of your website. You, too, are an important part of the time frame equation, because we need your feedback throughout the project, as well as your content (text, images, video, social) as we progress. We are committed to delivering website projects of the highest quality.
What if I want custom features and functionality?
Custom features and functionality are our forté – we love customising websites and fulfilling our clients’ needs. We’ll listen to your ideas in detail, and gladly advise you and provide a quote for the additional features and functionality you require.
What happens when you complete my project?
We will hand over the entire control of the website, including databases, content management systems, FTP access etc. In addition, we would be happy to train your website administrator as a separate mini-project, so that the training meets their requirements and yours, and is specifically geared to their learning pace and level of administrative expertise.
What if I need tech support after my website goes live?
We’ll offer high-quality website support on an ad-hoc basis, or you can maximize the value we provide by purchasing service blocks of 6 hours at a great price.
What are your payment terms?
We request 50% as a deposit at the start of your project, and the remaining 50% after the website goes live.
Can I update my own site?
Whether you opt for a content-managed website or an e-commerce website, you can easily update and maintain your own site. Rest assured, we will discuss all options at the start of your project so that your website meets your requirements exactly.
Do you do logos and business cards too?
Yes, we do! Although we focus on web design, we design many forms of corporate identity – logos, business cards, flyers, catalogues, posters, etc. We value your input highly, as it is the foundation on which we create a design that is uniquely yours. This runs as a unified theme through your website and all your printed marketing material, maximising your brand identity.
